BH Spotlight, our exhibit at D/code 2019, endeavours to bring into focus the hottest emerging brands in product design in India

With an exhibition titled BH Spotlight, we will be showcasing the works of the eight most exciting homegrown names in product design right now:
Some are emerging stars, like Nikita Bhate of Sār Studio and Yashesh Virkar of Yasanche, who launched their own labels this year. Then there are the seasoned practices; Huzefa Rangwala and Jasem Pirani’s MuseMART for MuseLAB and Mahesh and Harsh Tanna’s Taannaz are reshaping everyday, always-used products with innovative hardware such as wall hooks and door handles. Established talents like Claymen’s Aman Khanna and KOY’s Kunaal Kyhaan Seolekar are redefining the modern Indian aesthetic. And finally, quiet but impactful designers, like Tushant Bansal and Aditi Chaddha Batra of Indus People, are crafting exciting pieces with close attention to detail.

Browse through the images below to learn more about why these brands were handpicked for our exhibit.

You could also stop by at Booth 8, The Market Place, D/code 2019 at NSCI Worli, on March 2 and 3 from 11am to 7pm, to join us as we celebrate this talented crop of designers.

Claymen’s Aman Khanna is a graphic artist, illustrator, sculptor and a visual storyteller. His brand of evocative figurines, planters and objets d’art has become something of a symbol in urban sanctuaries which appreciate a bit of whimsy.
MuseMART for MuseLAB has made a dent in the design scene with products that place a lot of importance on functionality, proportions and materiality.
KOY, helmed by Kunaal Kyhaan Seolekar, is obsessed with high quality craftsmanship and is known for creating eclectic furniture for contemporary India.
Indus People is aesthetically inspired by the Indian subcontinent and draws from the colours and textures of the country to create modern and minimal products.
Sār Studio by Nikita Bhate delivers a modernist aesthetic for India by collaborating with designers from around the world.
Taannaz looks for beauty in the mundane. They specialise in bespoke architectural hardware made of silicon bronze, white bronze and brass.
